Waiver and Release

I wish to participate in the Team Shalva group that will be running in the 2027  
Jerusalem Marathon on Friday, March 19, 2027 in order to raise awareness and
critically needed funds that support the non-profit work of Shalva - The Israel

Association for the Care and Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities ("Shalva").  I
understand that while training for and participating in this event, I will be
traversing public streets and thoroughfares where potential hazards exist.  I
confirm that I am aware of and appreciate the risks that may result.  I am also
aware that accidents may occur during this event or during the training for this
event which could result in serious injury or death.  I am voluntarily participating
in this event and in the training for this event with knowledge of the dangers
involved and I agree to accept all risks of injury or death.

I have accepted the responsibility to raise the minimum fundraising requirement in
order to participate with the Team Shalva. 

If I am receiving a discounted fundraising goal as a result of participating in the
Team Shalva family group with one or more of my designated family members, I
agree and acknowledge that if all of my designated family members decline to
participate in the Team Shalva group, then my discount will be removed and I will
be obligated to raise the full amount indicated to me on the Team Shalva group
website.

To be eligible for a team group rate there must be a minimum of ten runners. If
runners who are part of a team group choose to forego their place, leaving the
group below the ten person minimum, fellow group runners will be required to
raise the regular minimum fundraising requirement for the departed runner, unless
otherwise agreed upon by the Team Shalva management.
 
By November 1, 2026, I will be asked to recommit to Team Shalva, and at that
time I will be required to secure my spot on the team with a personal credit card. 
All travel arrangements must be booked by November 15, 2026 to avoid
additional charges. The travel ticket and hotel accommodations may only be used
for Team Shalva 2027.  Once I have recommitted, I will be responsible to provide
all funds collected, whether checks or by credit card, on or before the fundraising
deadline of February 5, 2027 and I authorize Shalva to charge the credit card
submitted during my recommitment for any balance that remains due in order to
meet the required fundraising minimum established for this event. If my credit card
is so charged, I understand that I have until April 12, 2027 to provide additional
donations and to receive a refund.
 
Once I recommit I am aware that if for any reason I am not able to participate in
the event, I will still honor my obligation to raise the fundraising minimum
established for the event. I agree to abide by any decision of a  Jerusalem marathon

official or Team Shalva official relative to any aspect of my participation in this
event, including the right of any official to deny or suspend my participation for
any reason whatsoever.
 
I assume all risks associated with running in this event, including but not limited
to: falls; contact with other participants, spectators or others, or vehicular or other
traffic; the effects of the weather, including heat and humidity, wind, cold
temperature, and wet or icy surfaces; falling tree branches or other overhead
objects; traffic; and the crowded nature and other conditions of the road, including
surface conditions such as slipperiness, holes or obstacles and acts of terrorism or
other violent acts, all such risks being known and appreciated by me.
 
I understand that bicycles, skateboards, baby joggers, roller skates or roller blades,
animals, and personal music players may not be allowed in the race and I will
abide by all race rules.
 
I grant medical personnel at the  Jerusalem marathon permission to administer or
arrange for any medical assistance that they deem necessary or appropriate as a
result of my participation in the event, including without limitation, arranging
transportation to a hospital or other medical facility. 
 
Having read this waiver and release, and in consideration for being permitted to
participate in this event in support of Shalva, I, for myself and anyone entitled to
act on my behalf, agree to assume all risks and to release, hold harmless, and
covenant not to sue Shalva, Team Shalva, American Friends of Shalva Israel, Inc.,
Canadian Friends of Shalva, British Friends of Shalva, each of their respective
officers, directors, employees and agents, members of the event team, Team Shalva
coach, and any designated beneficiaries, sponsors, officials, participating clubs,
communities, organizations, friends of the event, including the event medical
sponsor, the medical director, and members of the medical team, and all other
government or public entities including, but not limited to, the Department of
Transportation of the Jerusalem municipality and affiliated organizations and all
their respective directors, officers, agents, employees and members (collectively,
the "Releasees"), from any present or future claim, loss or liability of any kind that
I may have arising out of my participation in and training for the event, including
bodily injury, death or property damage, whether caused by negligence or
carelessness of the Releasees or otherwise.
 
Furthermore, I, for myself and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, agree to waive
my rights and to discharge all the Releasees from all claims, losses, or liabilities

for death, bodily injury or property damage that I may have, or which may
hereafter accrue to me, as a result of my participation in this event, even though
that liability may arise from negligence or carelessness on the part of the
Releasees, from dangerous or defective property or equipment owned, maintained
or controlled by them or because of the possible liability without fault. I
understand and agree that the Waiver and Release is binding on my heirs, assigns
and legal representatives.
 
I agree to abide by the Team Shalva Code of Conduct during my stay with Team
Shalva but that Team Shalva bears no responsibility for any violation by me of the
Team Shalva Code of Conduct or the direct or indirect consequences thereof. I
affirm that I understand the risks associated with each of the foregoing.
 
Without limiting any other waivers and releases, I, for myself and anyone entitled
to act on my behalf, hereby agree that none of the Releasees are responsible for
any loss, damage, or injury to me or any of my belongings occurring while I am
with or accompanying Team Shalva and/or occurring as a direct or indirect result
of my violation of the Team Shalva Code of Conduct.
 
I am physically capable of training for and completing this event. If I am aware of
or under treatment for any physical infirmity, ailment or illness, my medical care
provider knows of and has approved my training for and participation in this event.
I will maintain personal health insurance while training for and participating in the
event. I acknowledge that I and I alone am entirely responsible for my personal
health and safety and the personal property I bring with me.  
 
I understand that all donations processed by Shalva, American Friends of Shalva
Israel, Inc., Canadian Friends of Shalva, or British Friends of Shalva are non-
refundable and non-transferable even if I do not participate in the event. 
 
I understand that my name, photograph, voice and/or likeness may be used by
Shalva, Team Shalva, and their sponsors, beneficiaries, licensees, affiliates and
employees. I consent to and authorize, in advance, such use without compensation
and waive all rights of privacy I have in connection therewith.
 
In order to maintain the prices stated in this agreement, Shalva reserves the right to
change accommodations and other components of the Team Shalva program.  By
agreeing, I affirm that I understand the risks associated with international travel
and that the Releasees are not responsible for any loss, damage, or injury to any of
the Team Shalva program participants or any belongings of that participant caused

directly or indirectly by Shalva suppliers or agencies, or by any airline, hotel,
common carrier, travel agency, or any other person or entity.   Shalva reserves the
right to limit participation based upon eligibility requirements, space limitations,
and other criteria that it may, in its sole discretion, determine.
 
I do hereby agree that any current or future dispute or claim between me and any
of the Releasees arising out of, resulting from or relating to my participation in the
event, shall be resolved by confidential, final and binding arbitration administered
by JAMS, The Resolution Experts ("JAMS"), and conducted in accordance with
the then-current JAMS Arbitration Rules & Procedures (the "Rules") by an
impartial arbitrator to be jointly selected by me and the Releasees from a list of
neutral arbitrators provided by JAMS. The arbitrator shall have the authority to
award any remedies, including attorneys' fees and costs, available under applicable
law, except punitive or exemplary damages. I acknowledge that judgment upon the
award rendered by the arbitrator may be entered in any court having jurisdiction,
and that the award may be vacated or modified only on the grounds specified in the
Federal Arbitration Act or other applicable law.
 
I agree that any arbitration conducted pursuant to this agreement shall take place in
New York County, New York. I acknowledge that such agreement is given in
exchange for rights or benefits to which I am not otherwise entitled and the more
expeditious and confidential resolution of any such disputes.
 
I hereby agree that all claims will be pursued on an individual basis and I hereby
waive my right to commence or be a party to any class or collective claims or any
joint any claim against the Releasees.
 
I HAVE READ THIS WAIVER/RELEASE, AND I FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS
TERMS AND CONDITIONS AND UNDERSTAND THAT I AM GIVING UP
SUBSTANTIAL RIGHTS, INCLUDING MY RIGHT TO BRING ACTIONS
AGAINST THE RELEASEES. I ACKNOWLEDGE THAT I AM SIGNING THE
WAIVER/RELEASE FREELY AND VOLUNTARILY, AND THAT I INTEND
BY MY SIGNATURE TO COMPLETELY AND UNCONDITIONALLY
RELEASE THE RELEASEES TO THE FULLEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY
LAW.
 
I EXPRESSLY AGREE THAT THIS WAIVER/RELEASE IS INTENDED TO
BE AS BROAD AND INCLUSIVE AS PERMITTED BY THE LAWS OF THE
STATE OF NEW YORK AND THAT THIS WAIVER SHALL BE GOVERNED
BY AND INTERPRETED UNDER THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF NEW

YORK, WITHOUT REGARD TO CONFLICT OF LAWS PRINCIPLES. I
AGREE THAT IN THE EVENT THAT ANY CLAUSE OR PROVISION OF
THIS WAIVER/RELEASE SHALL BE HELD TO BE INVALID, THE
INVALIDITY OF SUCH CLAUSE OR PROVISION SHALL NOT
OTHERWISE AFFECT THE REMAINING PROVISIONS OF THIS
WAIVER/RELEASE, WHICH SHALL CONTINUE TO REMAIN IN FULL
FORCE AND EFFECT.

    If the participant is under the age of 18, the participant's parent should read and agree to the following:
I am applying for my child to participate in the Team Shalva program and the
 Jerusalem marathon. I represent and warrant that I am the parent or legal
guardian of the child and, as such, consent to my child's participation in the

Team Shalva program and the 2027 Jerusalem Marathon on Friday, March 19, 2027    
and I agree that the terms hereof apply equally to my child and me
and any claims I or my child may have in connection therewith. I also waive
any derivative claims that relate to or arise out of my child's participation in
the Team Shalva program and the Jerusalem marathon. All references to "I"
or "me" or similar words herein apply to me and to my child.

covers COVID-19. If I already have extended health coverage, or I purchase a
plan for this trip, I understand and acknowledge that I will be required to
submit this information to Team Shalva staff.
I understand and acknowledge that Shalva reserves the right to cancel or alter
any aspect of the Team Shalva Marathon trip including itinerary, dates,
activities or location for reasons including but not limited to: the number of
confirmed travellers, weather, environment, health hazards, outbreaks of
disease or epidemics (inclusive of COVID-19 outbreaks), government
regulations, acts of God, disaster, fire, strikes, civil disorder, acts of terrorism,
war, acts of civil or military authorities or the public enemy, power surges or
failures, or other similar cause or threat thereof beyond our reasonable
control (collectively: "Force Majeure").

Having read this waiver and release, and in consideration for being permitted
to participate in this event in support of Shalva, I, for myself and anyone
entitled to act on my behalf, agree to assume all risks and to release, hold
harmless, and covenant not to sue Shalva, Team Shalva, American Friends of
Shalva Israel, Inc., Canadian Friends of Shalva, British Friends of Shalva,
each of their respective officers, directors, employees and agents, members of
the event team, Team Shalva coach, and any designated beneficiaries,
sponsors, officials, participating clubs, communities, organizations, friends of

surface conditions such as slipperiness, holes or obstacles and acts of terrorism or
other violent acts, all such risks being known and appreciated by me.
 
I understand that bicycles, skateboards, baby joggers, roller skates or roller blades,
animals, and personal music players may not be allowed in the race and I will
abide by all race rules.
 
I grant medical personnel at the Jerusalem marathon permission to administer or
arrange for any medical assistance that they deem necessary or appropriate as a
result of my participation in the event, including without limitation, arranging
transportation to a hospital or other medical facility. 
 
Having read this waiver and release, and in consideration for being permitted to
participate in this event in support of Shalva, I, for myself and anyone entitled to
act on my behalf, agree to assume all risks and to release, hold harmless, and
covenant not to sue Shalva, Team Shalva, American Friends of Shalva Israel, Inc.,
Canadian Friends of Shalva, British Friends of Shalva, each of their respective
officers, directors, employees and agents, members of the event team, Team Shalva
coach, and any designated beneficiaries, sponsors, officials, participating clubs,
communities, organizations, friends of the event, including the event medical
sponsor, the medical director, and members of the medical team, and all other

government or public entities including, but not limited to, the Department of
Transportation of the Jerusalem municipality and affiliated organizations and all
their respective directors, officers, agents, employees and members (collectively,
the "Releasees"), from any present or future claim, loss or liability of any kind that
I may have arising out of my participation in and training for the event, including
bodily injury, death or property damage, whether caused by negligence or
carelessness of the Releasees or otherwise.
 
Furthermore, I, for myself and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, agree to waive
my rights and to discharge all the Releasees from all claims, losses, or liabilities
for death, bodily injury or property damage that I may have, or which may
hereafter accrue to me, as a result of my participation in this event, even though
that liability may arise from negligence or carelessness on the part of the
Releasees, from dangerous or defective property or equipment owned, maintained
or controlled by them or because of the possible liability without fault. I
understand and agree that the Waiver and Release is binding on my heirs, assigns
and legal representatives.
 
I agree to abide by the Team Shalva Code of Conduct during my stay with Team
Shalva but that Team Shalva bears no responsibility for any violation by me of the
Team Shalva Code of Conduct or the direct or indirect consequences thereof. I
affirm that I understand the risks associated with each of the foregoing.
Without limiting any other waivers and releases, I, for myself and anyone entitled
to act on my behalf, hereby agree that none of the Releasees are responsible for
any loss, damage, or injury to me or any of my belongings occurring while I am
with or accompanying Team Shalva and/or occurring as a direct or indirect result
of my violation of the Team Shalva Code of Conduct.
 
I am physically capable of training for and completing this event. If I am aware of
or under treatment for any physical infirmity, ailment or illness, my medical care
provider knows of and has approved my training for and participation in this event.
I will maintain personal health insurance while training for and participating in the
event. I acknowledge that I and I alone am entirely responsible for my personal
health and safety and the personal property I bring with me.  
 
I understand that all donations processed by Shalva, American Friends of Shalva
Israel, Inc., Canadian Friends of Shalva, or British Friends of Shalva are non-
refundable and non-transferable even if I do not participate in the event. 
 

I understand that my name, photograph, voice and/or likeness may be used by
Shalva, Team Shalva, and their sponsors, beneficiaries, licensees, affiliates and
employees. I consent to and authorize, in advance, such use without compensation
and waive all rights of privacy I have in connection therewith.
 
In order to maintain the prices stated in this agreement, Shalva reserves the right to
change accommodations and other components of the Team Shalva program.  By
agreeing, I affirm that I understand the risks associated with international travel
and that the Releasees are not responsible for any loss, damage, or injury to any of
the Team Shalva program participants or any belongings of that participant caused
directly or indirectly by Shalva suppliers or agencies, or by any airline, hotel,
common carrier, travel agency, or any other person or entity.   Shalva reserves the
right to limit participation based upon eligibility requirements, space limitations,
and other criteria that it may, in its sole discretion, determine.
 
I do hereby agree that any current or future dispute or claim between me and any
of the Releasees arising out of, resulting from or relating to my participation in the
event, shall be resolved by confidential, final and binding arbitration administered
by JAMS, The Resolution Experts ("JAMS"), and conducted in accordance with
the then-current JAMS Arbitration Rules & Procedures (the "Rules") by an
impartial arbitrator to be jointly selected by me and the Releasees from a list of
neutral arbitrators provided by JAMS. The arbitrator shall have the authority to
award any remedies, including attorneys' fees and costs, available under applicable
law, except punitive or exemplary damages. I acknowledge that judgment upon the
award rendered by the arbitrator may be entered in any court having jurisdiction,
and that the award may be vacated or modified only on the grounds specified in the
Federal Arbitration Act or other applicable law.
 
I agree that any arbitration conducted pursuant to this agreement shall take place in
New York County, New York. I acknowledge that such agreement is given in
exchange for rights or benefits to which I am not otherwise entitled and the more
expeditious and confidential resolution of any such disputes.
 
I hereby agree that all claims will be pursued on an individual basis and I hereby
waive my right to commence or be a party to any class or collective claims or any
joint any claim against the Releasees.

I wish to participate in the Team Shalva group that will be running in the 2027  
Jerusalem Marathon on Friday, March 19, 2027 in order to raise awareness and
critically needed funds that support the non-profit work of Shalva - The Israel
Association for the Care and Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities ("Shalva").  I
understand that while training for and participating in this event, I will be
traversing public streets and thoroughfares where potential hazards exist.  I
confirm that I am aware of and appreciate the risks that may result.  I am also
aware that accidents may occur during this event or during the training for this
event which could result in serious injury or death.  I am voluntarily participating
in this event and in the training for this event with knowledge of the dangers
involved and I agree to accept all risks of injury or death.
 
I have accepted the responsibility to raise the minimum fundraising requirement in
order to participate with the Team Shalva. 
 

By November 1, 2026, I will be asked to recommit to the program, and at that
time I will be required to secure my spot on the team with a personal credit card. 
Once I have recommitted, I will be responsible to provide all funds collected,
whether checks or by credit card, on or before the fundraising deadline of
February 5, 2027, and I authorize Shalva to charge the credit card submitted
during my recommitment for any balance that remains due in order to meet the
required fundraising minimum established for this event. If my credit card is so
charged, I understand that I have until April 12, 2027, to provide additional

If the participant is under the age of 18, the participant's parent should read and agree to the following:

I am applying for my child to participate in the Team Shalva program and the
Jerusalem marathon. I represent and warrant that I am the parent or legal
guardian of the child and, as such, consent to my child's participation in the Team Shalva program
and the 2027 Jerusalem Marathon on Friday, March 19, 2027  
and I agree that the terms hereof apply equally to my child and me
and any claims I or my child may have in connection therewith. I also waive
any derivative claims that relate to or arise out of my child's participation in
the Team Shalva program and the Jerusalem marathon. All references to "I"
or "me" or similar words herein apply to me and to my child.

that time I will be required to secure my spot on the team with a personal
credit card.
The travel ticket and hotel accommodations may only be used for
Team Shalva 2027. Once I have recommitted, I will be responsible to provide
all funds collected, whether cheques or by credit card, on or before the
fundraising deadline of February 5, 2027 and I authorize Shalva to charge
the credit card submitted during my recommitment for any balance that
remains due in order to meet the required fundraising minimum established
for this event. If my credit card is so charged, I understand that I have until
April 12, 2027 to provide additional donations and to receive a refund.
Once I recommit I am aware that if for any reason I am not able to
participate in the event, I will still honor my obligation to raise the
fundraising minimum established for the event.
I agree to abide by any decision of a Jerusalem marathon official or Team
Shalva official relative to any aspect of my participation in this event,
including the right of any official to deny or suspend my participation for any
reason whatsoever.
I assume all risks associated with running in this event, including but not
limited to: falls; contact with other participants, spectators or others, or
vehicular or other traffic; the effects of the weather, including heat and
humidity, wind, cold temperature, and wet or icy surfaces; falling tree
branches or other overhead objects; traffic; and the crowded nature and
other conditions of the road, including surface conditions such as slipperiness,
holes or obstacles and acts of terrorism or other violent acts, all such risks
being known and appreciated by me.
I understand that bicycles, skateboards, baby joggers, roller skates or roller
blades, animals, and personal music players may not be allowed in the race
and I will abide by all race rules.
I grant medical personnel at the Jerusalem marathon permission to
administer or arrange for any medical assistance that they deem necessary or
appropriate as a result of my participation in the event, including without
limitation, arranging transportation to a hospital or other medical facility.
I understand and acknowledge that it is mandatory for me to have health
insurance that is valid in Israel for the duration of my trip and that also
covers COVID-19. If I already have extended health coverage, or I purchase a
plan for this trip, I understand and acknowledge that I will be required to
submit this information to Team Shalva staff.
I understand and acknowledge that Shalva reserves the right to cancel or alter
any aspect of the Team Shalva Marathon trip including itinerary, dates,
activities or location for reasons including but not limited to: the number of
confirmed travellers, weather, environment, health hazards, outbreaks of
disease or epidemics (inclusive of COVID-19 outbreaks), government
regulations, acts of God, disaster, fire, strikes, civil disorder, acts of terrorism,
war, acts of civil or military authorities or the public enemy, power surges or
failures, or other similar cause or threat thereof beyond our reasonable
control (collectively: "Force Majeure").

Having read this waiver and release, and in consideration for being permitted
to participate in this event in support of Shalva, I, for myself and anyone
entitled to act on my behalf, agree to assume all risks and to release, hold
harmless, and covenant not to sue Shalva, Team Shalva, American Friends of
Shalva Israel, Inc., Canadian Friends of Shalva, British Friends of Shalva,
each of their respective officers, directors, employees and agents, members of
the event team, Team Shalva coach, and any designated beneficiaries,
sponsors, officials, participating clubs, communities, organizations, friends of
the event, including the event medical sponsor, the medical director, and
members of the medical team, and all other government or public entities
including, but not limited to, the Department of Transportation of the
Jerusalem municipality and affiliated organizations and all their respective
directors, officers, agents, employees and members (collectively, the
"Releasees"), from any present or future claim, loss or liability of any kind
that I may have arising out of my participation in and training for the event,
including bodily injury, death or property damage, whether caused by
negligence or carelessness of the Releasees or otherwise.
Furthermore, I, for myself and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, agree to
waive my rights and to discharge all the Releasees from all claims, losses, or
liabilities for death, bodily injury or property damage that I may have, or
which may hereafter accrue to me, as a result of my participation in this
event, even though that liability may arise from negligence or carelessness on
the part of the Releasees, from dangerous or defective property or equipment
owned, maintained or controlled by them or because of the possible liability
without fault. I understand and agree that the Waiver and Release is binding
on my heirs, assigns and legal representatives.
I agree to abide by the Team Shalva Code of Conduct during my stay with
Team Shalva but that Team Shalva bears no responsibility for any violation
by me of the Team Shalva Code of Conduct or the direct or indirect
consequences thereof. I affirm that I understand the risks associated with
each of the foregoing.

Without limiting any other waivers and releases, I, for myself and anyone
entitled to act on my behalf, hereby agree that none of the Releasees are
responsible for any loss, damage, or injury to me or any of my belongings
occurring while I am with or accompanying Team Shalva and/or occurring as
a direct or indirect result of my violation of the Team Shalva Code of
Conduct.
I am physically capable of training for and completing this event. If I am
aware of or under treatment for any physical infirmity, ailment or illness, my
medical care provider knows of and has approved my training for and
participation in this event. I will maintain personal health insurance while
training for and participating in the event. I acknowledge that I and I alone
am entirely responsible for my personal health and safety and the personal
property I bring with me.
I understand that all donations processed by Shalva, American Friends of
Shalva Israel, Inc., Canadian Friends of Shalva, or British Friends of Shalva
are non-refundable and non-transferable even if I do not participate in the
event.
I understand that my name, photograph, voice and/or likeness may be used by
Shalva, Team Shalva, and their sponsors, beneficiaries, licensees, affiliates
and employees. I consent to and authorize, in advance, such use without
compensation and waive all rights of privacy I have in connection therewith.
In order to maintain the prices stated in this agreement, Shalva reserves the
right to change accommodations and other components of the Team Shalva
program. By agreeing, I affirm that I understand the risks associated with
international travel and that the Releasees are not responsible for any loss,
damage, or injury to any of the Team Shalva program participants or any
belongings of that participant caused directly or indirectly by Shalva
suppliers or agencies, or by any airline, hotel, common carrier, travel agency,
or any other person or entity. Shalva reserves the right to limit participation
based upon eligibility requirements, space limitations, and other criteria that
it may, in its sole discretion, determine.
I do hereby agree that any current or future dispute or claim between me and
any of the Releasees arising out of, resulting from or relating to my
participation in the event, shall be resolved by confidential, final and binding
arbitration administered by JAMS, The Resolution Experts ("JAMS"), and
conducted in accordance with the then-current JAMS Arbitration Rules &
Procedures (the "Rules") by an impartial arbitrator to be jointly selected by
me and the Releasees from a list of neutral arbitrators provided by JAMS.
The arbitrator shall have the authority to award any remedies, including
attorneys' fees and costs, available under applicable law, except punitive or
exemplary damages. I acknowledge that judgment upon the award rendered
by the arbitrator may be entered in any court having jurisdiction, and that
the award may be vacated or modified only on the grounds specified in the
Federal Arbitration Act or other applicable law.
I agree that any arbitration conducted pursuant to this agreement shall take
place in the United Kingdom. I acknowledge that such agreement is
given in exchange for rights or benefits to which I am not otherwise entitled
and the more expeditious and confidential resolution of any such disputes.
I hereby agree that all claims will be pursued on an individual basis and I
hereby waive my right to commence or be a party to any class or collective
claims or any joint any claim against the Releasees.

I HAVE READ THIS WAIVER/RELEASE, AND I FULLY UNDERSTAND
ITS TERMS AND CONDITIONS AND UNDERSTAND THAT I AM
GIVING UP SUBSTANTIAL RIGHTS, INCLUDING MY RIGHT TO
BRING ACTIONS AGAINST THE RELEASEES. I ACKNOWLEDGE
THAT I AM SIGNING THE WAIVER/RELEASE FREELY AND
VOLUNTARILY, AND THAT I INTEND BY MY SIGNATURE TO
COMPLETELY AND UNCONDITIONALLY RELEASE THE RELEASEES
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW.
I EXPRESSLY AGREE THAT THIS WAIVER/RELEASE IS INTENDED
TO BE AS BROAD AND INCLUSIVE AS PERMITTED BY THE LAWS OF
THE UNITED KINGDOM AND THAT THIS WAIVER SHALL BE
GOVERNED BY AND INTERPRETED UNDER THE LAWS OF THE
UNITED KINGDOM, WITHOUT REGARD TO CONFLICT OF LAWS
PRINCIPLES. I AGREE THAT IN THE EVENT THAT ANY CLAUSE OR
PROVISION OF THIS WAIVER/RELEASE SHALL BE HELD TO BE
INVALID, THE INVALIDITY OF SUCH CLAUSE OR PROVISION
SHALL NOT OTHERWISE AFFECT THE REMAINING PROVISIONS OF
THIS WAIVER/RELEASE, WHICH SHALL CONTINUE TO REMAIN IN
FULL FORCE AND EFFECT.

High School Student Participant Code of Conduct

We are thrilled to have you participate in Team Shalva 2027 Jerusalem Marathon. In order to ensure that you and your fellow teammates are able to get the most out of this amazing experience, we ask that you review and follow the below policies regarding the Team Shalva program. These policies have been designed and established to ensure the safety, comfort, and enjoyment of every participant.

1. Students must travel on the bus they were assigned to with their chaperone, there is no switching of buses.

2. Students are expected to be present at all programs over the course of the Team Shalva  Jerusalem weekend and must wear their name badge at all times.

3. Students must adhere to all curfews: Wednesday night curfew is 10:00 PM, Thursday night curfew is 9:30 PM, Friday night is 11:30 PM and
Saturday night is 11:30 PM or 2 hours before bus pick up to airport.. Participants are not to leave their rooms after this time. Students may be in touch with their chaperone if they need assistance. Chaperones will check their student rooms at curfew.

4. Participants are not allowed to leave the hotel, even with a friend or family member unless they get permission from their chaperone. Guests of Team Shalva participants are allowed only in the hotel lobby in the evening after programming and before curfew.

5. Any consumption of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden and will result in expulsion from the program at the parents' expense.

6. Participants must report any matters that are unsafe, inappropriate or otherwise concerning to their chaperones or to Team Shalva staff.

7. Free time will be shared once your group’s itinerary is final (either Wednesday March 17 or Sunday March 21). Plans during free time MUST be coordinated between your parent and the chaperone prior to departure to Israel and no exceptions will be made.

8. Students are not permitted to change hotel rooms.

9. There will be separate sections in the hotel for male and female student's rooms. Students may not be in the area or in the rooms of the opposite gender for any reason, at any time.

10. Students must respect hotel property and will be liable for any damage or misappropriation of hotel property which they cause.

11. Students must be considerate and respectful of the other hotel guests. Unnecessary and loud noises, such as slamming doors, loitering in the hallways, running, shouting and loud music, are strictly forbidden. Students are welcome to congregate and socialize in the lobby and/or in designated public rooms.

As a Team Shalva participant, you must adhere to these rules and protocols to avoid consequences set forth by your school administration, and in order to ensure that all participants are able to maximize their Team Shalva  Jerusalem Marathon experience.

Canada Travel Advisory

Travel Advisory: I have read and understood the current travel advisory issued by the
Government of Canada regarding travel to Israel. I agree to stay informed about any
updates or changes to this advisory.

Insurance: I understand and acknowledge that due to the current travel advisory,
obtaining health insurance coverage for travel to Israel may not be possible. If the travel
advisory is lifted prior to the event:
a) I commit to obtaining valid health insurance coverage for the duration of my trip to
Israel, including coverage for COVID-19.
b) I will provide proof of this insurance to Team Shalva staff.
c) I understand that failure to obtain insurance after the advisory is lifted may result in
my exclusion from the event.
If the travel advisory remains in effect:
d) I understand and accept that I may be participating without health insurance
coverage.
e) I assume all risks associated with traveling and participating without insurance.
f) I agree to hold the Releasees harmless for any medical expenses or other costs
incurred due to lack of insurance coverage.
g) I will maintain personal health insurance while training for the event in my home
country.

Emergency Evacuation: I understand and agree that in the event of an emergency
evacuation or any other unforeseen circumstances requiring me to leave Israel earlier
than planned, I am solely responsible for any and all costs associated with such
evacuation or early departure, including but not limited to airfare, transportation,
accommodation, and any other related expenses. Shalva and its affiliates bear no
responsibility for covering these costs under any circumstances.

Travel Insurance:
I understand and acknowledge that:
a) Due to the current travel advisory, obtaining comprehensive travel insurance
coverage for Israel may be challenging or impossible.
b) If the travel advisory is lifted prior to the event, I am strongly encouraged to obtain
comprehensive travel insurance that covers trip cancellation, medical emergencies, and
evacuation.
c) If I am unable to obtain travel insurance due to the travel advisory, I assume all risks
associated with traveling without such coverage.
d) Shalva and its affiliates are not responsible for any costs related to trip cancellation,
medical emergencies, or evacuation, regardless of whether I have travel insurance or
not.
e) I am solely responsible for any and all costs associated with emergency evacuation
or early departure from Israel, including but not limited to airfare, transportation,
accommodation, and any other related expenses.

I have read and understood the travel advisory issued by the Government of Canada regarding travel to Israel. *

I am a high school chaperone. In the event my high school team does not have 10 students enrolled in the team by November 1, 2026 I agree to raise $ by February 5, 2027. *
