I am running the Jerusalem Marathon with Team Shalva in memory of my grandfather, Murry Kohn, who recently passed away this Sukkot. My grandfather was a man of service. He proudly served his country and was in the US Army. Served his patients with dedication as a dentist. He served the people in his community and was very dedicated to helping out in his shul, the Young Israel of Lawrence Cedarhurst. He constantly did acts of chesed and mitzvot and spread his kindness wherever he went. His family was always his number one priority. My grandmother was the love of his life for 50 years. He was a loving and active father and grandfather who always went the extra mile for whoever needed him. He had great joy in participating in school events, Simchas and just hanging out. Thank you, grandpa, for loving me, supporting and encouraging me and always making me laugh. I enjoyed my visits to Long Island and have lasting happy memories of you that will help guide me through my life.. Now is my turn to return the favor and keep your memory alive. I love you, Grandpa. May your neshama have an aliyah and may your memory always be a source of nachas and Bracha to all who were fortunate to know you.
