Hi! My name is Rachel Carr. I'm in grade 9 at TanenbaumCHAT and I am privileged to be participating in the Jerusalem Marathon as part of Team Shalva!
This marathon has been dubbed one of the hardest in the world, so why on earth am I doing it?
The reason is Shalva.
Shalva is an organization that helps kids in Israel that have mental illness and physical disabilities. Team Shalva is the largest charity team in the Jerusalem Marathon, bringing together kids and adults from all over the world to run for one common goal: providing care and love for kids who have with disabilities and empowering their families.
When I heard about this event I knew I wanted to participate in it because it encompasses so many things that are important to me: Tikkun Olam (making the world a better place), supporting Israel, helping kids, and being active.
I'll take care of the training, the achy feet and the finish line if you'll help me by donating to this worthy cause. All donations are 100% tax-deductible, anything you can give would help me reach my goal, and together we'll be supporting this truly special place. If your company has a matching gift program, please let me know so I can connect you with Shalva.
Thank you in advance for your help and generosity.
