Welcome to our marathon sponsor page!

This March we will be running as part of Team Shalva in the Jerusalem Marathon!

We will be running in the memory of Cody's older brother, Evan Erlick y”h. On December 5, 2006 - a few months after celebrating his Bar Mitzvah in Israel, Evan Erlick y”h lost his courageous battle with a brain tumour. He was only 13 years old. Evan was passionate about his family and Israel. Evan had a dream that all kids with illnesses and disabilities could have a place where they would be able to play games, relax and, for a little while, just be kids. Last year, we were inspired and amazed by Shalva and Cody and I will be running the Jerusalem Marathon again to raise money for the very things Evan loved as part of Team Shalva.
It takes a truly important cause for me to do something like running a marathon. Between training, fundraising and planning, the organization needs to be incredibly special. And that's what Shalva is to me. For children with disabilities and their families, life can often be difficult, disheartening and frightening. Having a family member with special needs, I have witnessed how difficult dealing with a disability may be. However, attending programs, classes and interacting with others has been very helpful. Unfortunately, not every child is able to attend these services.
This is where Shalva comes in. In this life-changing organization in Israel, every child becomes a cherished member of the Shalva family. Kids with disabilities become, "just kids," with friends and laughter, fun activities and beautiful memories. Children from birth through 21 years of age are serviced by the most professional, caring and compassionate staff and not only are the children taken care of and treasured, their family members are also incorporated into the Shalva family with warmth and genuine love.
We have had the pleasure of visiting Shalva last year and we can tell you first hand what an extraordinary place it is. So passionately do we feel about Shalva, that we have decided to run the Jerusalem Marathon on March 15th, 2019 10K once again. We plan to raise over $7200 and we hope you will help us reach this goal by making a donation – anything helps!
