For the past three years, I have had the incredible honor of being able to run the Jerusalem Half-Marathon in support of Team Shalva. I have always felt a deep connection to Israel, and running through the streets of the Old City of Jerusalem, united with the entire country and knowing I was supporting a great cause, has truly been one of the most inspiring and uplifting experiences of my life. I am so excited to run for Shalva again in the 2020 Jerusalem Half-Marathon in March as captain of the Berman Hebrew Academy delegation, and I ask for your help in supporting Team Shalva.
Shalva, the Association for the Mentally and Physically Challenged Children in Israel, is an unbelievable program. This wonderful organization offers a broad range of services to such children and their families in a warm and loving environment. When I ran the half marathon in the past, I had time to volunteer for Shalva. From the first minute I was there I was able to appreciate a firsthand view of the impact Shalva makes on the families it supports. I loved seeing the huge smiles on the children I worked with as they participated in Shalva's activities. The parents who brought their children were also very appreciative of the program, and I heard many heartening stories about how it has helped their families. The opportunity to be involved with such a powerful organization has drawn me back to volunteer at Shalva during subsequent visits to Israel, and whenever I am there I feel lucky to play a small role in Shalva’s significant work. You can learn more about Shalva at www.shalva.org.
Please join me in helping Shalva further its mission by donating to this worthy cause. All donations are 100% tax-deductible, as travel costs for my flight and lodging are covered by corporate sponsors of Shalva. Anything you can give would help me reach my goal, and together, we'll be working to help support this truly special place.
Thank you in advance for your help and generosity!
