This March I will be running as part of Team Shalva in the Jerusalem Marathon!

Why am I running for Shalva?

The reason is Shalva.

I’m fortunate enough to have the opportunity to volunteer at Shalva as my cheesed in seminary. My class consists of children on the autism spectrum as well as some children also with Down syndrome. Every time I step into the building, I am amazed at the facility and how many opportunities it gives these kids, like so many therapies. While I am in class with them, I am able to see the effect that the therapies give them and how much they have been growing. I am always looking forward to my Wednesday’s at Shalva with Moshe, Ophrit, Nachman, Liel, Adiel, Akiva, and tefilla. Shalva has been providing transformative care to individuals with disabilities and their family members in the warmest and most loving environment for over 30 years. From infancy through adulthood, this amazing organization provides leading-edge therapies, inclusive educational frameworks, social and recreational activities, employment training, independent living, respite programs regardless of religion, ethnic background or financial capability!

Simply put, Shalva is an incredible place and is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The staff is so loving and kind and goes above and beyond to make the center a home away from home.

I am doing my part to support this amazing organization by running, and I need your help.
