Welcome to my marathon sponsor page!
This past year, I had the amazing opportunity to celebrate my cousin’s bar mitzvah at the Shalva National Center in Jerusalem. I learned firsthand about the incredible organization that Shalva is. Shalva works with the families of children who have disabilities, and provides support, opportunities, and love to these children. The Shalva Center is open 7 days a week, 365 days a year, and provides life-changing services and care every minute it is open. Over two thousand children are in the building every week, and their families are incorporated into the Shalva community as well.
The individuals who are part of the Shalva community range from birth to adulthood, and spend time in the beautiful Shalva facilities, which include many classrooms, therapy spaces, semi-Olympic and hydrotherapy pools, parks, and an auditorium. There is even a cafe with employees who are Shalva alumni!
After learning more about the Shalva Center and how it developed into a leading center for people with disabilities, I wanted to find more ways to volunteer in Shalva and help bring them the resources needed to keep up the program and allow it to grow.
To do this, I decided to run the Jerusalem Marathon’s 10K on March 20th, 2020 as part of Team Shalva. In addition to the run, I will be spending time at the Shalva Center over the course of the weekend, volunteering with the kids there and learning more about the organization.
I am so happy to be doing my part to support the Shalva Center by running, and I need your help to reach my fundraising goals.I plan on raising $3,000, and I hope you will help me reach this goal by making a donation - anything helps!Your support is vital to my success in this race and will make a huge positive impact on the lives of these incredible children and their families.
I hope that together we can help make a difference in the lives of these children and support this truly special place. On behalf of the Shalva community, thank you in advance for your time, help, and generosity.
