Alfie Keene's Shalva Charity Marathon

Goal: 1875
Welcome to my fundraising page for TeamShalva. Let me tell you a bit about who Shalva is, who I am and why I am running for this incredible cause. Shalva is an Israeli charity who has been providing transformative care to individuals with disabilities and their family members in the warmest and most loving environment for nearly 30 years. From infancy through adulthood, this amazing organisation provides leading-edge therapies, inclusive educational frameworks, social and recreational activities, employment training, independent living, respite programs regardless of religion, ethnic background or financial capability! Simply put, Shalva is an incredible place and is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The staff is so loving and kind and goes above and beyond to make the center a home away from home. I am 16 years old currently studying my A-Levels and wanted a challenge that was separate from education which was also a worthwhile cause to a community and country so close to my heart. I lost my Dad Saul when I was 5. Israel and charity was a huge part of his life and something that brings us together even though he is not around today. I will be running 13 miles/10K in his memory. I am committed to the hard training psychically and mentally over the coming months. I am also committed to raising a minimum of £1875 which will go towards helping improve the Shalva facilities and allowing more children to have access to this amazing organisation. Please could I ask for your support, encouragement and donations for the next few months.
