This March, I will be running the 10K at the Jerusalem Marathon as an ambassador of Shalva, an organization in Israel that supports children and adults with special needs. My goal is to raise $600 to support Shalva’s incredible work and run in honor of the amazing children who make this organization so special. I will also be dedicating this run to the memory of my beloved grandparents, Marcia and Barry Luftig and Stuart and Sylvia Singer z”l. I carry their memories with me, and I am proud to honor them through a cause that means so much to me.
Shalva is an organization that is incredibly close to my heart. In 2024, I helped create Team Shalva at Berman, where I served as a co-captain and ran as part of Shalva in the Jerusalem Marathon. Being part of that experience showed me how powerful it can be to come together for a cause that truly matters. Now, returning as an ambassador and taking on the 10K, I am excited to continue supporting a community that has had such a meaningful impact on my life. This year is especially important to me because I have the privilege to be running alongside a few of Shalva’s incredible children!
Every Wednesday, I work with a variety of children in Shalva’s therapy pool, helping them with their swimming. Spending time with these incredible kids has been very meaningful for me and has allowed me to see firsthand the personal impact Shalva has on each child. The time I spend with them reminds me why Shalva’s mission matters so much and why every child deserves the chance to reach their full potential. Being able to run alongside some of these children is an opportunity I am incredibly grateful for, and I know it will make every step of this race even more special.
I am hoping to raise $600 to support Shalva and help make a difference in the lives of the children and families it serves. I truly believe each child deserves a place where they can grow in a safe and supportive environment. Every donation, no matter the amount, brings me closer to my goal and helps support a cause that means so much to me.
