We are so excited to be taking part in the Tel Aviv marathon with Team Shalva… whilst we won’t be running the full distance in kilometres, we will be going the full distance in raising funds for what is a truly life-changing charity. Shalva has been providing transformative care to individuals with disabilities (including Tehilla pictured above) and their family members in the warmest and most loving environment for over 35 years. From infancy through adulthood, this amazing organization provides leading-edge therapies, inclusive educational frameworks, social and recreational activities, employment training, independent living, and respite programs regardless of religion, ethnic background or financial capability. They opened their doors as a National Crisis Response Centre at the sudden onset of war in Israel, providing over 200 families from the South both the physical and emotional support they needed. Simply put, Shalva is an incredible place; it’s open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The staff and volunteers are so loving and kind and go above and beyond to make the centre a home away from home.
