This February I’m taking on a huge challenge (for me!) by running 10k at the Tel Aviv Marathon as part of Team Shalva, and I’m aiming to raise £2,000.
I’m not a natural runner. I’m not one of those people who goes out and casually runs miles for fun. That’s why this feels like a real test and why I’m pushing myself outside my comfort zone. I wanted to do something meaningful that actually matters, and this is it.
Shalva is an incredible organisation in Israel that supports children and adults with disabilities and their families, offering therapies, education, social programmes, independence training and respite care, all in the most warm and supportive environment. They help thousands of people, and they do it regardless of background or financial situation.
When the war began, Shalva also stepped up immediately, opening as a National Crisis Response Centre, welcoming and supporting families who had to leave their homes, while still continuing their daily care for the people who rely on them year-round. The scale of what they do, and the way they do it with kindness and dignity, is genuinely inspiring.
By running, I’m doing my part, but I can’t reach the £2,000 target without your help.
If you’re able to donate (anything at all), I’d be really grateful. I’ll do the training and your support will help Shalva keep doing what they do best which is changing lives.
Thank you so much for supporting me and supporting Shalva.
