Hi everyone! This March I will be running in the Jerusalem marathon with Team Shalva for the second year in a row. For the last 28 years, Shalva has been caring for tons of children with disabilities and their family members. As of 2016, Shalva has continued taking care of these children from birth through 21 years old in their brand new, state of the art Shalva center located in Jerusalem. Shalva is a place where kids with disabilities are just like any other kids. Thanks to Shalva and their incredible, dedicated staff, these children come to Shalva every day with a smile on their faces and excited for a day filled with learning and fun activities.
In addition to helping this amazing organization by running in the marathon, I’ve also been volunteering at the Shalva center weekly. On Tuesday afternoons, I shadow an incredible seven year old girl named Chava, followed by volunteering in the gan (ages 3-5), and I finish my day doing Zumba with older girls. Volunteering at Shalva truly is the highlight of my week in seminary, and I’m able to witness first hand all the amazing things that Shalva does.
Therefore, I’ve decided to run the 10k Jerusalem Marathon and plan to raise as much money as I possibly can for this life changing organization! I hope you will help me reach my goal and make a donation to this worthwhile cause- any amount helps!
Thank you in advance for your help and generosity!!!
