On December 5 2006 - a few months after celebrating his Bar Mitzvah in Israel - Evan Erlick y”h lost his courageous battle with a brain tumour. He was 13 years old.
Evan was passionate about his family, Israel and insuring children with illness and disabilities are never left behind and forgotten. This year me, Evan’s mom and brother - Lisa and Cody - will be running the Jerusalem Marathon precisely to raise money for the very things Evan loved as part of Team Shalva.
Shalva is one of Israel’s premier institutions that cares for, and supports children with special needs and their families. They take in the entire range of needs – from physical to cognitive disabilities. It is true you can judge every society by how they care for their disadvantaged and it could not be truer for the State of Israel. In Shalva we witness the noble, loving and caring Israel that fills our hearts with pride.
This March our hearts will be holding Evan’s spirit knowing we carry his fight to where it belongs.
As part of the walk/run we are being asked to raise funds and if you click on this link you can find our tribute page.
Thank you in advance for your help and generosity.
